Set on 100 acres of working farm land in the Lower Hunters township of Qurrobolong, this house was designed to overlook the property. Perched on the highest point of the land, this engineering and architechural masterpiece is designed to withstand mine subsidence, where the two living wings can be re-levelled off the pedestal foundations. Its use of passive heating/cooling allows the sun to heat the concrete slab in winter and the carefully designed eave overhang shades this in summer to keep the house cool.
